My two year old keeps waking up

Could someone please tell me what to do to stop my DS 2 yrs waking up every two hours? He is a wonderful little person and goes down with a bit of effort at 8:00/8:30 but by midnight he will wake up again looking for a bottle. This we will give to him - just a small amount . But then he's up again at 3:00am and then again at 5:00am. We give more milk and cuddles but I have to be up for work at 6:30 and its drivng me crazy. My DH fully helps, in fact he has more patience than me but we end up having whispereded arguements at 3:30am because we are both out of of minds with tiredness. My DS used to be so good and has only started this behaviour 2 or 3 months.
He woke up 5 times last night and I ended up shouting at him, and he dosn't deserve that.

What happens if you don't give a bottle? Between 12 and 24 months he should be getting 300ml of full fat cows milk per day.

How is his eating and drinking in the day?

Have you tried leaving a cup with a lid so that he can help himself to water if he is just thirsty?

If i don't give a bottle the Prince of Darkness appears!
I have to say that i've always given into him. Weak parenting i know but he has never managed to cry himself to sleep. He just gets more and more upset so we give in. I will take your suggestion of the lidded cup though.
Last night he slept the whole night which was wonderful. And because both of us weren't tired we have had a lovely day together today. I was also careful not to let him sleep today. He has just gone down with just a small fuss, so fingers crossed that we will have a good night tonight.
Thank you so much for responding to my plea, yesterday when i posted that message i was at breaking point.

So glad you had a better night and day yesterday. My DD woke once or twice a night at this age and I fed her too, for me it was just easier. She was always a quick feeder so I was back in bed in 10 minutes and we didn't wake anyone else up.

Have a read of this on night weaning. It's aimed at bfers but there are still some good tips for settling them in the night without offering milk Smile.
