rolling on to front then waking

Dd has just started sleeping thru night! Yay! But yesterday she learned to roll onto her front, which she's been doing all day since. But she cant roll back. She keeps rolling onto her front in her cot then waking up crying as she's stuck. I'm really worried as she cant get back over. She has a sleeping bag on. She's just under 5 months. Is there anything I can do? Had to roll her back a million times last night!

I'm a traditional blankets not sleeping bag mum. My belief is babies just cannot move freely enough in these sleeping bags. With blankets she has more room to move freely so maybe wouldn't be so stuck and uncomfortable. However, that's just my personal preference. Are you worried that she's sleeping on her front and that's 'not allowed'? Fwiw 3 of my 4dc slept on their fronts from birth as this was the only position they were comfortable in... Smile

Okay blankets are worth a thought. Do they not just kick them off? Suppose its so warm at the moment it wouldn't matter. Dont care how she sleeps as long as she's comfortable. I'm more worried because she is face down and cant get back over and worried she cant breath!

My dc are 19, 13, 9 and 7. They all slept with just the usual cot blankets and were all fine. My sisters ds is 4 and he had sleeping bag and he always seemed cold especially in winter time. Blankets are my preference, I'm sure many modern mums prefer sleeping bags... 3 of mine slept on tummies from 1-2 weeks old and they're all fit and healthy. I'm sure there'll be other parents who would completely disagree with this so it really is up to you to just find what works out for your dd. And she'll soon learn to roll back onto her back Wink
