5 and a half month old waking at 4am every night

Hi all, need some advice. My DD1 goes to sleep between 8:30pm and 9pm and wakes every morning at 4am for a feed. I know I should be pleased that she is doing a full stretch but I thought by nearly 6 months she would be sleeping through till 6am. She has about 5oz and drops off back to sleep. I have tried to give her as much milk during the day as possible and she has started weaning about 2 weeks ago. Any advice?

I suspect lots of people will be along here soon to tell you how lucky you are to have a baby that sleeps from 8.30 til 4 Smile Our DD is 5m and falls asleep in her cot by 8pm latest (feeds 8oz at 6.30). We change her and give her a 4oz dream feed at 10.30pm and she doesn't need another feed til 7am. She usually sleeps thru til 6.30ish. If she wakes it's usually because her gums are hurting and I give her some teetha granules or bonjela and she goes back to sleep, I never feed her then because she is definitely getting enough in the day. Maybe try earlier bedtime and dream feed before midnight? I've only got the experience of one DC to go on so sorry I can't be more helpful...

Yes want to say you have a great sleeper. My 16mo sleeps from 6.30ish to 4.30-5.30, every day. So my sleep isn't any better than yours really. And from what I gather on this board, there is nothing I could do until she can play herself to stop the morning wakings. Problem is she is active and ready to start the day at the crack of dawn. No amount of controlled crying will fix a child who aren't tired.

I will try the dream feed. Fingers crossed. Have any of you tried the hungry baby milk? Do you think that might help? X
