Rolling over on to front...

hello all, DD has just learned to roll over. she does it fine all day long from back to front and front to back, but for some reason when she's in her sleeping bag in her cot in the middle of the night she decides that she can't roll back by herself and wants me to come in and feed her back to sleep. i know she is not hungry as she very occasionally sleeps through and it seems like every time she wakes in the night it's due to this rolling on the belly business. she was waking every few hours last night and i really don't want her to think she can have comfort feeds every time she wakes up... what can i do? thanks in advance :)

When my DS first started rolling in his cot I put two rolled up blankets down either side of him under the sheet to hinder rolling. Might be worth trying.

Could u remove the gro bag? Use a blanket instead?

i don't think she would sleep without the gro bag, she does acrobatics around her cot every night so is liable to end up under the blanket! also she kicks the covers off her anyway so she would just be cold without the gro bag. god knows what'll happen when she's ready for a bed!

i might try the rolled up blankets idea, although she's pretty strong and might just end up pushing them out of the way. i read that you can get anti roll things for them? has anyone tried these? are they safe?

It's not really safe to use any kind of sleep positioner they can be dangerous :( how about one of those thicker sleep suits ?

I have this problem and I use an anti-roll - she just rolls over it now. Watching with interest

i thought they might not be recommended. i think she would just roll over it now anyway.

i think part of the problem is that DH comes to bed so much later than me and she is stirring when he makes too much noise and therefore ends up on her belly. she never used to be bothered with the noise but lately it seems like she prefers quiet...

We have the same child, my DD is also disturbed by my DH. He needs to learn to not move in his sleep and stop breathing so loudly, inconsiderate sod ;)

well last night was much better :) i put her back in to her warm sleeping bag as it seems to have gone a bit nippy and she fell asleep at 9pm then woke at 5am - on her belly - and had to be fed back to sleep. then she didn't wake again till half 8!! i feel so much better after a decent nights kip it's unreal. maybe she just likes to be all warm and snug.

fingers crossed for another good night tonight!

Ds2 does this as well, everytime he calls out in the night, he's stuck on his tummy. He's 7 months old, I'm hoping he'll grow out of it soon.
