sleeping arrangement help and ideas

My dd is 14 weeks old. She has a crib that has one side removed and its pushed right up against our bed to give us all a bit extra room but she really is too big for the crib so mostly sleeps in with us. We have a small double bed and its getting really cramped. Dd now wakes nearly every hour and kicks, rolls, huffs and puffs all night long. She's not waking for feeds so much, its more just general waking. However I do bf on demand and feed to sleep so co sleeping does work well but just not enough room now. She has a huge cot bed in her own room but not used yet. Its too big to put in our room. My partner wants her to start going in her own room but I cant see this working and tbh I cant be bothered to keep getting up and feeding her when used to just doing it lying in bed but agree we all need more space. So, options are that I put her in own room or I try find a cheap 2nd hand cot that will fit in our room. What do you think?

We ended up just getting a bigger bed. We started off with 2 secondhand singles shoved together with an Ikea mattress topper across them.

We then had a cot side that we attached to one side of the bed so that our baby couldn't roll out if on the edge.

When we moved to a bigger house our bedroom was then big enough for a full sized Super king 6x6.6 Bliss.

If money is tight look on Freecycle or similar, people always seem to be getting rid of beds and as long as they didn't smoke in bed it's usually fine, 2 singles are often spareroom beds that haven't been used but they now want to turn the room into an office etc

Can you and DH top and tail, as you will have more room at the top of the bed where your head goes and how feet/legs will act as a barrier so baby can't roll out.

Or get a bigger bed.

It doesn't sound like you want baby to be in their own room/cot just yet.

The issue with our bed is there is fitted drawers both sides so the bed slots in between so the room will only take a double bed. Ye the top and tail idea might work. Was thinking if I got a cheap cot that would probably fit and would give us another couple of months all together in same room. Its just much easier having her in our room but we do need more space. Our room is not overly small but the stupid fitted drawers make everything a bit difficult. Cant see that dd would just accept going from co sleeping to her own bed in her own room. Thought a cot next to my bed might help the transition. But then was speaking to a friend yesterday who said as soon as they put there baby in its own room it slept so much better.

Would your DH consent to graciously giving you two the bed and sleeping elsewhere in the house until DD is 6 months old so that you can follow sids guidelines re sleeping arrangements? If she is 14 weeks then it won't be for long.
