cold in his sleeping bag

my ds is waking up cold in his sleeping bag - even though we put a body suit on as well as pjs and a jumper. He is 23months. Have tried putting a blanket on but because he moves around so much it just ends up in a pile in a corner of the cot. Am wondering if i should get a light duvet (4.5tog) and keep him in the sleeping bag with less clothes. Does anyone else use duvet + sleeping bag? I know all the advise is for less clothing - but he wakes up with cold feet as well as arms and hands! Nb room thermometer reads 16.

I would think a duvet would go the same way as the blanket if he is a wriggler.

Is the sleeping bag heavy enough - what tog is it? What about socks under his bodysuit?

We have this problem so now on cold nights we set the timer on the heating to come on for a couple of hours at about 2am (we don't have a thermostat). This keeps the temperature up and seems to do the trick.

My ds would be cold at 16deg too

His room is usually between 18-21Oc though it drops when the central heating goes off.

He wakes up cold on cold nights unless we put him in a body suit and one of those fleecy night sleepsuits (made of thick fleecy material). The 2.5tog growbag goes on over that.

I also keep a long sleeved top available if he wakes cold and put that on over the growbag (saves taking layers off at night) - though we've never used that if he has the fleecy night suit on.

Also I put socks on him as well if it is a particularly cold night

I agree that 16deg is a bit cold. My dd has a oil radiator in her bedroom that we set on very low so it keeps a temp of 18-19.
If you don't want to consider a radiator, why not get a snuggle sac, they're great for wrigglers. Look on ebay or do a google search. I know mothercare do them. It might be a good option.
