Has anyone put siblings in the same bed?

I have a 3 yo DD and a 10 mo DS. DS is still in our bed and DD comes in in the morning.

I was thinking about moving DS out of our bed in a couple of months when he turns one and was wondering about putting them both in a bed together - either a double or a single (possibly bunkbeds so they have the option of sleeping separately if they want).

I've read about siblings sharing in the No Cry Sleep Solution and a few websites but was wondering if anyone had had experience of it or had any tips. I've suggested it to DD as an idea and she seems keen (she adores her little brother so far). When I was a child I sometimes used to go and snuggle up with my little brother if I woke up in the night or was cold and it was lovely, so thought it might be nice for them. Oh and DD bedshared with us until she was just over 2 so is used to sharing as well.

Has anyone done this and can share their experience?

We let ours sleep in the spare double bed together at the weekend if they want to, but it takes them about an hour to get to sleep! I wouldnt do it as a regular thing, no. Sounds like sharing a room would be nice for them but too young for bunk beds, surely?

Hmm, maybe we'll do some test runs in the spare bed first!

There isn't really room for two beds or a double in DD's room so would have to be bunkbeds - I was thinking midheight ones or getting one of those raised Ikea beds and putting DS underneath on the floor (on a mattress obviously, I'm not a monster Wink).

Or they can both go in the spare room but first we have to build an extension and move a lot of stuff out (you know those games where there's one square missing and you rearrange the pieces and a picture appears? That's basically our house).
