Help dd won't go to sleep

Been trying since 6. She was unwell last night and had me up most of the night, had to work today and am now desperate to go to bed. I've fed her several times, tried leaving her for a bit, got her up for a bit and read her some stories then tried again. She's hysterical and I can't think straight and I want to cry. On my own.

She's feeding again. She wants to get up and play it would seem.

Given that you are exhausted and she has been unwell would you consider putting her in bed with you for a bit? Could always move her in to her own bed if you're unhappy sleeping through the night with her?

I've been in your situation and its horrible, sometimes you just have to be kind to yourself - I'm assuming you've done calpol and the other usual things?

Hassled · 06/06/2012 20:31

Keep counting to ten - she will go to sleep eventually.

icepole · 06/06/2012 20:38

She won't take calpol and she won't sleep with me either, not sure why but she goes nuts if I put her in bed with me. On boob, dozing on and off. Hoping this is it. Had hoped to be in bed at 7.

How old?

You have my sympathy, my 9mo DS decided 4am this morning was play time. He cocked about for an hour before going back to sleep.

PoppyWearer · 06/06/2012 20:49

Teething?

Try ibuprofen for kids, it's better than Calpol for pain.

icepole · 06/06/2012 21:08

She's 15 months. In cot playing oh and now crying. Will try ibuprofen

I'm wondering if it's just a phase at this age. I posted recently about DS 16 months who has just started majorly resisting bedtime, you'd think sleep was painful for him the way he fights it. He then gets overtired and gets upset. There's a big development leap around this time too. I'm keeping everything crossed sure this will pass. You're not alone

NiceCupOfTeaAndASitDown · 06/06/2012 21:28

Somehow completely missed she was unwell yesterday, I expect she's still recovering, poor thing. I clearly need sleep, supposed to be having an early night as DS had me up at 4am. Hope you catch a break soon

She's feeding again.

Asleep! That was a long 4 hours. Fingers crossed she isn't up half the night again, am very bad at being tired.
