Keeping DCs cool at night

According to the monitor it's 24C in DS' room and he has woken covered in sweat so I've just had to take him out of his 1 tog sleeping bag so he's just in a short sleeved vest. The window is open but doesn't seem to be helping.

We have a fan but does anyone have tips on how to keep them cool in this weather? I read something about hanging wet towels in their room as it cools the air down. Has anyone tried this?

Just a nappy?

I know that you can buy cool pads that go underneath their sheets and have that cool gel inside - I think I've seen them in catalogues like Bettaware!

We've had to put fans in our girls' rooms tonight just until it gets darker and a bit cooler, and then its fine.

Maybe get one of those empty sprays (Superdrug/poundland) that you can fill with water and it creates a fine mist - spray that all over his sheets, not so that they are wet but damp enough so that it cools them down.

I would leave as much clothes off as possible too - just nappies/pants.

If DC are a bit older then you could leave a sippy cup with water and ice cubes in so that it stays cold the whole night.

Will go and try and find cool pads!

Mine are still insisting on going to bed with a hot water bottle Hmm

cool pad

Obviously I haven't shopped around to find cheapest deal, but I'm sure you can get them much cheaper than that!

It's 23 in DS 5mo room and he has a cold so keeps waking up coughing Sad

Vest and summer snoozebag, hope that's ok.

I have washing drying in his room, should both cool room and help his breathing.

I think I have one of those water atomiser sprays somewhere - we bought it for when I was in labour (turns out I needed something slightly stronger!). I'll dig it out and spray around the room as I imagine it would do the same trick as drying washing/towels.

Stripping him down to his nappy isn't an option as he knows how to undo them!

I'm also worried that I'll do too much and he'll be cold...
