Is it ok to allow a long morn nap if they want it? (11mth old)

Hi Ladies

My little girl is nearly one and at the moment she has been down for her morning nap for nearly 2 hours, she did this one day last week too. Is this ok? She normally only sleeps 25-30mins in the morn then her long nap is after lunch which is normally between 1 hour and 2 hours.

If she needs this sleep should I let her continue? When she slept this long in the morning the other week she just seemed to swap her naps round and her lunchtime one was about 45mins instead and she was fine for the rest of the day.

Maybe this is the big one year growth spurt?

Thanks
Jane

My DS quite frequently has a couple of hours in the morning, seems to go in cycles - sometimes he'll only have 45 mins, other times up to 2 hours. I wouldn't dare wake him up though - I'm not one for waking sleeping babies! Wink I can't imagine it'll cause any problems with your DD.

Thanks for the advice - just an unusual one for us! she's just stirring now after just over 2 hours!

A strange day - she had a HUGE lunch then straight after was tired so put her down just 2 hours after waking from the 2 hour nap and she's now been asleep 1 hour 15mins....

I'm worried she is poorly now!

Aw don't worry, I am sure she's fine and just a bit tired!

I've never been a Gina Ford mummy and find that my DS nearly always has a long nap in the morning. Tried to fiddle aorund and it just left him grumpy.

So now I just let him regulate his own sleep. He's just turned one btw.

Ooh yes, it's fine. Let her sleep as long as she needs to Smile

Is it warm? That might have something to do with it?
