Age that you LO dropped their last nap

Can I ask what age your LO's were when they dropped their last nap? I have a 22m DD and it is getting increasingly difficult to get her to nap at 12 (her usual nap time) and I am finding she naps later and later, and if it is after 2pm it is a nightmare for bed time.

I am contemplating to stoppping the mid day nap and just putting her to bed earlier but i feel 22months is very young for this. Advice please...

FYI - She sleeps a sound 11/12 hours at night (usually).

dd was around the age of 3 (but for the last 6 months or so i would take her out in the car to get her to sleep). DS gave his up by the age of 2.

Very much depends on the child but 22 mo does seem a bit young not to nap. DS1 stopped napping at 4 and DS2 still has a good 2 hours every day at 2yrs. Sometimes they just go through a wibble for a week or two then get back on track, I would suggest persisting with nap for a few more weeks and only drop if they consistently don't sleep.
Good l.uck!

DD was just gone 2 and DD was 13 months

Ds was 3. it was when I potty trained him as i didn't wan to put nappies back on for a nap. I expected him to pick it back up again a bit later but beyond falling asleep on the school run he never really napped again!

I think dd was around there too but i can't remember. it seemed so important at the time - it is crazy that i have forgotten!

DS just going through this now, he is 2y7m and still occasionally needs a nap, maybe 2 days a week.

Try it and see. We're in the giving up phase now. DS is 26m & we've been phasing it out for a few months. Sometimes he goes to bed for a nap, sometimes he doesn't. He goes to bed much easier if he hasn't napped. We had a run of 5:30 wakings which prompted this shift.

Grin @ TheJoyfulPuddlejumper.

I'm laughing in total recognition at that one.

I will just see how it goes. I might start making up rules guidelines that she isn't to nap after 2pm and to be woken after 1.5 hours. If she sleeps later or for more - I am up till 9pm (or worse) and then that throws the dat after out!
