My DD has just turned 18 months and has NEVER spent a full night in her own cot/bed. She was EBF until she turned one so it was fine but now I'm back at work I am exhausted and could do with some advice on how to get her into her own bed. She refuses to nap in her bed but will nap in mine as long as I lay next to her. Her cot bed is next to mine and we have tried to transfer her once she is asleep but she wakes and refuses to settle. She has only self settled twice and I am not a fan of cc. Tried it once but found it too stressful when she threw up all over her bed. She does not have a dummy and is not impressed when we try to give her a comforter doll/teddy. She just wants me! In generally she is a very happy confident child and is so pleasant everybody comments on it. This too makes me reluctant to make changes if she changes her demeanour etc. she cut her first tooth at 13 months and only has 5 teeth so there are plenty to come so hence why I expect poor sleep but I could do with a little breathing room so any tips for you experts?

Is she still fed back to sleep at night? Would you be happy to co-sleep with her in your bed until she is older?

To get her in her own room/own bed, you'll have to sleep train. At the moment, she has no understanding of how to settle herself as you've always helped her. There are gentler ways of doing this than CC; have you heard of controlled crying or pick up put down?

Sorry, meant to say, have you heard of gradual withdrawal?
