4wo nightmare sleeper at night

But frustratingly pretty good during the day. How do we get this the other way round...? I am not expecting her to sleep through, but it seems on some nights we are only getting sleep in short bursts.
Background- 1st child (so clueless parents!), born at 37 weeks and spent one week in NICU. Mix formula and breast fed, but is currently more formula than breast as her latch is terrible :( (We are working on that though). She will sleep happily on her back in the stroller when we take her out, but otherwise doesn't seem to like lying flat on her back. Raising the end of the moses basket brought a little help, but I think she is just not tired enough at night, so the slightest thing means grizzling, crying and general grumpiness.
She sleeps quite a bit during the day, and whilst helpful for getting things done round the house, it's a bit more of a problem at night time. How do I keep her more awake during the day? Or what else can I try?!

Hang in there - it will get better! The best advice I was given was from a French paediatrician who said 'for the first few months there is no night, there is no day, there is just the baby'.

He was French, had a great accent and it sounded like the best piece of philosophy I'd ever heard at the time. It's probably true though.

It's hard right now, but as she gets older she'll be more and more stimulated by what's going on around her during the day, and will need more sleep at night. Try to get sleep when she does during the day, hang on in there and know that it will start (slowly too slowly!) to sort itself out.

Good luck!

If you're not getting much sleep at night, please try and sleep during the day if your baby does, keep housework to a minimum (or even better get someone else to do it).

It will start to change soon, some babies take a little longer than others to work out night/day.
