Ok for 5mo to sleep on her front?

We have been having a terrible time with DD2's sleep over the past 6 weeks or so (she is 5.5m now). I am lucky if I get 3h sleep a night in chunks of less than an hour at a time, so I'm pretty exhausted.

I think wind is a big problem - nothing seems to make it better and it really bothers her at night (naps are fine btw).

I have been trying to settle her since 11pm without success, just put her down in her cot on her front and she settled immediately and is fast asleep.

Is this safe? Feel like now I will be sleepless from
sitting up all night listening to her breathing...

She can roll from back to front (started about 2w ago) and has vg head control/strength.

My second sleeps on his stomach. Before he could roll, we always put him on his back, but once he'd mastered rolling he's always ended up on his tummy. I don't think you can fight it really and some babies (and me!) sleep a lot better on their tummy.

He's now 18 months and still on his tummy. Bit of a pain as his pyjamas are always wet in the morning but hey, he sleeps.

I hope you manage to get some sleep too !

We had this DS who nearly drove me demented by not sleeping on his back and me feeling too uneasy to our in his front.

As soon as he became mobile me always sleeps on his tummy. In retrospect I wish I'd done it at the start.

As long as you don't smoke, have a well ventilated room and clean bedding the risk factors are massively reduced.

Thanks both, good to know.

I'm such a wimp - I sat up waiting until she was sound asleep then rolled her back onto her back!

DS is the same age and sleeps on his front. He has reflux so his bed is tilted and until he could roll onto his front he would wriggle round and stuff his head in the corner of the cot bumper (which we only have to stop him sliding out of the cot). I was quite relieved when he'd sleep on his front with his head the right way up!

Hi my dts has only slept on his front from about 3 weeks (also refluxy and colicky). I keep an eye on him when he naps in the living roomin his Moses basket and have a movement monitor in his crib at night for peace of mind

My DS is almost 6 months and for the past 6 weeks or so has been sleeping on his front. That is THE ONLY WAY he will sleep. I've been fighting it for a good few weeks before and no one was getting any sleep so I finally gave in. Even his consultant told me to let him sleep on his tummy if that's what he wants. He also has reflux, so not sure if sleeping on his tummy is more comfortable. We have AngelCare movement monitor and he still sleeps in our room.
