Anyone tried cranial osteopathy for sleep problems in a toddler?

DD is now 3 and has always been a pretty dodgy sleeper, albeit with "good" phases of sleeping through, say 5/6 nights a week, sometimes for weeks at a time. But the bad phases have been many and often long, and at no point has she ever consistently slept beyond 5.30/6 a.m. At the moment she is waking up every night, often several times, and is still up early for the day. And because she no longer naps in the day, she is often really grumpy all day because of being tired (reinstating a nap isn't the answer - then she WILL NOT go to bed in the evenings). I'd learnt to deal with (if not exactly enjoy) the early waking, but the night-time wakings are really killing me at the moment.

So - she had cranial osteopathy as a baby for crying/reflux, but without any real noticeable effect; however, I know it's sometimes recommended for sleep problems, even with older children. Has anyone tried it? If it didn't help her for other issues, is there any point trying for this one? Any experiences/advice would be much appreciated...

We did it at around 18 months with ds, who was waking every hour or two throughout the night. After the first session he only woke twice, and after the final session was sleeping through. However he is still an early riser, I suspect that's just the way that he is wired. He's not an amazing sleeper now at 5, will wake around 6, and goes to the toilet once or twice in the night a few times in a week. Hope it works for you!

I tried it for my ds's reflux and bad temperedness at 4 months. It was a load of crap. My Ds was in a mood at first and didn't want to be touched by this guy so I held Ds and the guy held my feet and said he could feel he was still stressed by the trauma of the birth etc etc. He did eventually touch Ds and said stuff like he needs work on his pancreas. It was quite relaxing (when I wasn't trying to stifle a laugh) and Ds had a lovely long nap during it.
At the end the guy said he'll need a lot more sessions (yeah right!) and that he would either be more sleepy or less sleepy or more agitated or more relaxed than usual over the next few days of he would be the same as usual -covering all bases. I paid £40 and decided never to go back
Having said that a friend went to one and said she was fantastic for her ds' colic and cured it in one session. She paid £200 for one session though
I guess what I'm saying us make sure you go to someone who's been recommended to you
