6 week old possetting - and getting her clothes wet at night

My 6 week old DD seems to posset a lot - she has always got a wet babygro. It doesn't seem to bother her that much. She will often burp just fine if I wind her - sometimes some milk comes up with a burp, sometimes it doesn't.

The problem is when she feeds at night. I feed her until she seems ready to come off the breast - let her burp - then feed her again. When she has finished feeding she is usually asleep again and won't burp. So I put her back to bed. But she will come into a light sleep an hour or so later and vomit on her clothes and sleeping bag - making them wet and making her shoulders cold.

Did anyone else have this problem - any ideas?

you need to keep her upright and gently rub her back or lay her across your knee on her tummy and gently rock her untill she burps or check her and change her straight away I wouldn't put her back down and leave her in wet sick clothing if she is going to bring it up again. I used to place a terry towling or muslin tucket in over my dds matress so a full sheet change isnt needed.

Hi there! My DD was and still is exactly the same at nearly 6 months. Bottom line... If I don't get ALL her wind up, she is sick. When She was diddy I used to fold a muslim for her to lay on. I used to lay awake worrying she would choke on it.

I finally figured her cues like if she squirmed pulling her legs up as I put her down. Facial movement like wincing. And I wouldn't go back to bed till i had got it up. I find the best way really is to change nappy and get them awake. It is possible when they're asleep but very difficult. More recently I was tortured with screaming an hour or two later when it had moved to a place neither up nor down and just had to try keep her where she was most comfortable. Normally upright on me. Bye bye sleep!! That was the very best thing about her dropping her night feed about 2 weeks ago!

During the day isn't so bad with my LO as she's upright alot during the day. She will eventually bring it up herself. But doesn't stop her being sick! In fact I had someone else feed her last week and not get any wind up. But she said "maybe I've feed her really well!" arrghhh anyway, resulted in a full blown projectile vomit. Hmmmm... Think I know my bub better!! Good luck xxx

Someone recommended to me that putting sthg under the head end of his moses basket can help them keep it down...might be worth a shot?

My dt's have reflux. Had to keep them upright for 15 mins after each feed when they were teeny tiny, and they slept on sleep positioner wedges. Putting something under then end of thecot also works as Begginers said.
