she used to wake once during night, now its about 3 times in the last few days. anyone any idea how long this lasts for? im exhausted. she is not feeding as well during the day so could be making up for it at night which could be part of the problem.

OMG I have also just had the roughest night. My nearly 5 month old was up EVERY 2 HOURS from 7pm. It felt like having a newborn again. I didn't know what to do to get him back to sleep other than feed him (I BF him) and he did drink every time. I so hope this doesn't last. Usually he wakes every 3 and a half- 4 hours. I thought things were improving. Sorry that I'm not giving you any advice. Just thought I'd tag along on your thread and see what people say!

bump
how are you gemmeg? things are getting worse here. she is crying from around 7pm, goes down at 9.30pm and is up every 2hours - she feeds for a long time and im not getting much sleep. this morning i passed her to dh at 7.15 and he was NOT impressed at having to be woke up so 'early'. she has lost the ability to self soothe back to sleep as well. does anyone have experience of how long sleep regression lasts and if solids helped. thanks

Just a thought but how are their daytime sleeps? Do they nap well (ie. for a couple of hours)? This can be key (bizarrely) to getting a good night's sleep. Also, could it be worth trying some solids? My DS woke for night feeds until he was 7.5 months old & properly established on solids, with hindsight I would've started sooner - I waited til 6 months.

thanks for tips. she doesn't sleep hardly during the day - apart from when nursing! i tried to let her lie for longer on me after nursing today to give her a better sleep. im in the process of trying solids but she doesn'tseem to be able to get it in - she is trying but its not working. then she gives up! ive tried baby rice and yoghurt. hope tonight is better...

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time of it. Things aren't too much better this end either. He's going down at 7pm as usual. I always put him down awake and he gets himself off to sleep just fine. Thankfully he's sleeping his usual 3-4 hrs before waking for his feed. Things go downhill from there. He wakes at such random times- sometimes after a couple of hrs, sometimes after 1.5 or even after just an hour. He used to drink very briefly and go straight back to sleep but now he's moany and cries a bit if he's not completely asleep and full up before I put him down. I went to my bf group today and raised this issue with the other mothers and the our group leader. She just reassured me that it'll pass and it's ok to feed him every time if that's what he wants. It's just a sign that he's growing and developing. I have been trying to get daytime naps sorted for the past couple of weeks. I wondered if this change of routine may have contributed to him being more restless at night (not because he's sleeping too much during the day as I know that naps can aid night time sleeping but just because it's a new pattern to get used to). I haven't tried feeding my DS solids but he shows absolutely no interest in food which my bf leader says is a sign to start them eating. I'm just going to keep going and hope the phase passes......soon!!
