I have a lovely 2 week old DD and a gorgeous 2yr old DS. My DS' sleep was awful and I'm utterly paranoid DD going the same way. Now the initial sleepiness has worn off, she is tricky to get to sleep and will only stay asleep for 40 mins. Rinse repeat. Sling works, pram doesn't. And have to work this round DS when 20 mins of jiggling not really feasible. Am cosleeping at the moment reluctantly but she is still mainly waking every hr.

I know these are v v early days and I just need to ride it out and lots changes quickly but please come and reassure me/ kick me. Thought I'd be so much more relaxed second time round. Ha!

My kids were very different after the first couple of weeks of feeding every few minutes (or so it seemed)
Hope someone is along soon with good advice

Am here with no advice but in same situation so perhaps just a hand to hold?

Thanks both. I know it's stupidly early to be obsessing about sleep already but my brain won't turn off!

Hello!

Ok with DD, I stuck her in the sling all the time and got on with stuff - going out was the easiest way as I stress less. If I'm at home, I find I want to put her down more but it means less sleep so I makemyself sling her and stick the sling hood then pop a muslin over and ssssh for a bit. It takes about 5-10 mins. She sleeps for about 45 mins indoors, 2 hours outdoors. She's 13 weeks now and takes a little longer but still works so far.
