Help me decode this behaviour at bedtime

My 2 weeks old baby sleeps in a crib by my bed. Daytime naps and from 11pm is fine in the crib but, mysteriously she refuses to go down in the crib after a bath at 7pm.

It's the only part of the day she sleeps on my chest in a baby Bjorn and I really like it but why only at 7pm? She's not feeding, just cries if I try and put her down. And when I say cries, she SHRIEKS like an air raid siren.

Normal?

I'd say normal. All of my 3 seemed to have a 'witching hour' between 6-9pm ish each night (obviously actually more than one hour......). They'd need feeding or cuddling for pretty much all that time or get very upset. Eventually they would go off to sleep properly about 9ish. It lessened after about 9 weeks but they weren't ready for a proper bedtime in their cot until somewhere between 3/4 months. I'd say just make yourself as comfy as possible, preferably on the sofa in front of the TV and let them get on with it. Avoid pacing the floor where possible! Good luck.

Oh yes, extremely normal! Tiny babies are often unsettled during the evenings, due to colic, reflux, who knows?!!! All mine were unsettled on an evening for the first few months, and eventually grew out of it. I have lots of friends with babies who have all done the same when newborn. Time in the sling sounds a great idea, and don't feel like it has to be you that settles her all the time like I did with my first, you need a break too! Good luck.

Go to sleep little baby! Am in a different time zone and it's almost midnight. She is happily waving her legs in the air and won't be moved from my lap after hours of crying.

Good to know this is not strange behaviour...

Early this morning I woke up fully clothed, lights on, having fallen asleep where I lay having fed her to sleep at some ungodly hour Smile

Tonight I at least hope to get as far pajamas
