My DS has learnt how to roll this week, but only seems to do it at night. He also only rolls back to front and can't seem to do it the other way. He hates being on his front and usually flaps round crying until I turn him over, for the last two nights I have been woken up by him crying and him being on his front .

I have just gone in to check on him and he is currently sleeping happily on his front - WWYD. Should I keep turniing him over, should I wait for him to cry, should I just leave him.

I don't think I'm going to get much sleep until he learns to roll the other way!

From FSID page:
My baby keeps rolling onto his front. What should I do?
If your baby is less than six months old and you find him sleeping on his tummy, gently turn him onto his back. Don?t feel you need to keep getting up all night to check on this. Whatever your baby?s age, always place him to sleep on his back.

What JSJ said - and depends on how old he is.
I'd turn him back if he's quite young. But as they learn to roll they develop more to cope with that so just make sure there's nothing loose in the cot he can get tangled in (bumpers etc)

Thanks - he has just woken up crying again and I put him on his back only for him to roll onto his front again another three times and start crying (in the space of

He is 5 months and it is wonderful to watch his mobility developing (even if it is a bit terrifying at the same time!)

He will soon learn to roll onto his back.
