Sorry you're having a hard time. Just wanted to sympathise. Dh is currently up with dd2 trying to calm her as every time I try to leave the room she starts yelling. She usually goes down without a murmur so not sure what's wrong tonight.

Something in the air?

Hope your ds settles soon.

How old is he?

DD1 is 3 and has become a right terror to get to bed. I have adapted my routine to include an extra 10 minutes quiet play in her bedroom before she has to get into bed with her light on very low. Last few nights it has worked a treat with only the minimum of fuss.

Will tell you in 10 minutes if it has worked tonight

Well dd1 is fast asleep too so I can now put my feet up - until dh comes home and wants his dinner.

Do you bath him every night i find this really helps. I stick to same routine religiously and once they r in bed thats it. Just ignore any noise unless you hear a thud followed by screaming lol!!! I've got going to bed sussed its just waking up during night i can't fathom out!!!

Thread seems to have died but thought I'd let you know what worked (sort of) for our 2.5 yr old dd. Her bedtime went to pot when ds came along 3 months ago. At long last she seems to be settling again by 8pm with lots of reassurance and - my dh swears by this - after bedtime story her talks her through the next morning. What do you want for breakfast? do you want cbeebies? who will be on? etc etc, whatever you can think of that will get her interested whilst telling her that daddy needs to go downstairs while she sleeps to get it all ready for her in the morning. She does come through to us in the middle of the night sometimes but will quite happily go up to bed now which is such a result given the nightmare that has been the past few months bedtime. Good luck, I know how wearing it is.
