Dd is not yet sleeping reliably enough for it to matter, but sooner or later I presume I'll be wanting to keep the bedroom dark for as long as possible in the morning. What are the best ways to keep ALL light out? With dcs 1 and 2 we used blinds, curtains, cardboard, sellotape and anything else that helped after finding that even the smallest chink of light had a big effect on wake up times. This time I'm hoping for a more straightforward solution. We have quite large and long windows. Thanks

I bought blackout blinds from tesco and then put curtains up the window. Close both and voila no light Smile

I got ad blackout roller blind made for Ds's room. ,£80, brilliant as there is a lampost outside his room.

We used this velcro one and blackout lining on curtain

we have this. It falls off the windows if you keep putting it on and taking it off, but I leave ours on and have sellotaped it on so I can open the windows. Before then we had a roller blind from john lewis as well as black out lining in the curtains, but light was still getting round the edge. We have a sky light in the ceiling on our landing, and DS has laminate floor, so light gets round the door which is as old as the house and not a great fit. Someone suggested a fixed draft excluder which I might get if DS starts to wake once the mornings are lighter.

I bought the gro anywhere blackout blind. Great for nights at grandparents houses and holidays. It has suckers on it and can be adjusted to fit snuggly to smaller windows.

We bought ours on ebay, has been really really really handy Smile

I went to John Lewis and bought blackout lining offcuts. Have those bang against the window, then curtains with normal lining on top.

we have the gro blinds. They black out the windows but make no difference to DD's sleep!
