cuddle..... milk...

I know yawn, yawn...

Controlled crying I guess?

Or just leave her to scream until getting up time.

She shouts 'Mummy, I want cuddle' when I eventually go in, usually 20 mins after she has started she starts asking for milk and gets hysterical if doesn't get it.

My ds 3 did this. I just let him in bed with us until real morning time and put up with a slightly depleted last couple of hours sleep. It didn't last very long.

I'm on my last baby and I can't help thinking ahead to a time when we'll think how lovely it was to have a little one in bed with us in the morning. Ahhhhhh!

But that's me. I have a Phd in The Construction of Rods for Backs.

How the divil are you flumster?

Flum · 24/01/2006 23:08

hiya Cod. long time no visit.

I'm sure not cold as she has lovely feather duvet and cosy jams.

I did used to think that.

Also heating comes on around then anyway. its not noisy though.

its not usually a big deal, but been knackered recently and think am teaching her bad habits by always giving milk and cosy rocking chair cuddle.

(other thing is if I'm not too knackered I love the cuddle too as only see her for an hour or so a day dur to work

Dishwasher performing wonderfully by the way!

Helloooo CountessDracula . am well. bit done in by life though - New job that involves real work (unlike last one that mostly involved mumsnet) and family life is a bit of a struggle.

Gotta get this little mite under control though to have a few nice sleepy months before next little mite arrives in June.

I tried to ignore her this morning and managed almost an hour then cracked........errrr. so she has learnt that if she carrries on for an hour I will eventually come - well done Flum. You foooool!

We kept telling ds that we would see him at 7 O'clock. Then when he woke at 5am

"mummy, mummy, mummy etc."

Yes dear

"is it 7 o'clock mummy?"

No dear, it's only 5 o'clock.

"okay then, night mummy - went back to bed and back to sleep."

Might be worth a try.

Flum · 25/01/2006 20:10

We are HARDCORE mum and dad.

She cried and wailed ' I want cuddles. I want cuddles. Mummy Mummy'

I bit my lip and hid under bed clothes.

2 year old dd is a WUSS though. She only kept it up for half an hour.

pah, lightweight.

Kitchen suppers off for now as I am on diet of crumpets and lemon curd. CD and Cod - you just jealous coz i am HOPELESSLY and incurably POSH beyond belief.

Going to call new baby Lord if boy or Lady if girl with middle name so people think they really are !!!!!!!!!! arf arf arf, think am sooooo funny i do

5am waking .... wrap them cosy, whisper loving mantras and LOCK THEM IN THE CAR .

FrumpyGrumpy · 25/01/2006 20:26

Oh yeah, gallop back to bed shouting TA DA!

Bugsy2 · 25/01/2006 20:52

Flum, if you give her the milk will she go back to sleep? Has she always been an early waker or is this a new thing?
I had a persistantly early waker for 6 years. It is only in the last 6 months since his 6th birthday that he has regularly slept past 6am. Nearly killed me, did everything I could think of but nothing worked and I had done controlled crying in the night - so was no lightweight about hearing a bit of anguished sobbing. All the sleep experts say early waking is one of the hardest "problems" to solve.
If your dd has just started this, it is probably a phase & hopefully it will pass. If you know she is safe could you & your dh/dp take it in turns to put ear plugs in and at least one of you won't be starting the day at 5am!!!

Flum · 25/01/2006 21:19

yep, if she has milk she goes straight back to sleep. But I am fed up with getting up and going down to a freezing cold kitchen for milk at 4-5am

its not really early waking though as she is still tired I think. when she actually wakes up properly she is really charming.
