Grobags & Blankets!

Just wondered what people think about using blankets in the cot? My DD is almost 15 months and we put her to bed in warm Pj's, long vest and socks then in a grow bag. She has been waking in the night and when I go into her room it seems freezing! (We live in an old house and it seems the heating is on all the time yet upstairs is almost always freezing!) I have thought about a big warm blanket that i can tuck down the sides of the cot, but I am worried about this, is it ok to use a blanket, is that not the whole point of a gro-bag!? Also should I tuck it in?

Thoughts please!

Thanks

My 16 mo moves an awful lot at night so in our case a blanket would be useless. So I'd say it depends if your LO moves a lot or not!

We use a couple of blankets on top of growbag. I just tuck them in at the bottom of the cot where her feet are so that they don't move up over her head and then snuggle them around her at the sides.

Wow, that was quick! Thank you ladies! She isn't really a mover so I think i'll try the blankets, I will try tucking them at the bottom, that's such a good idea! Thanks

I have a very wriggly 9.5mo and we started "tucking him in" about 2 weeks ago. We started it as he was waking himself up by all his rolling about. He gets but in his babygrow then a grow bag then we use a really large shawl (like a cellular blanket) which gets tucked in at either side of the cot under the mattress and under his armpits.

We dont have to worry about temp as we have a wee electric heater in his room so that no matter what the temp is in the rest of the house his room always holds a cosy temperature. And we've adjusted this now he is under a blanket.

Hope you are getting some sleep x

We too live in an old cold house. I cannot remember my son's monitor saying higher than 18C in months and that's at its warmest! His room has been down to 11C this winter at times.

We are using a Jo Jo Maman Bebe bag WITH detachable arms. He is almost 2 so we have a large one. They are £29 but so so so worth it for peace of mind that your little one is snug as a bug at night.
