Ds is in s/s vest and babygro, then one of those mothercare swaddling blankets (miracle blanket) with a cotton cellular blanket on top of that. His room is at 21 degrees? Ok or too much?

At 21 degrees i'd probably remove the cellular blanket for now. If it drops below about 18 i'd put it back on.

21° sounds hot to me, but I'm guessing this is a newborn if you're worrying?

I would say feel him and see how he's doing - will the temperature drop in the night (freezing out)?

Ok, thanks. Will do.

I would leave the blanket off as well. DD's room is 18 deg and she has vest and pjs/sleepsuit and a blanket.

I was worried it would be too hot. I just put the blanket on because he looks so not cosy in the swaddle blanket without a blanket on top! Annoyingly when the resst of the house is barely at twenty, his room is always much warmer (he has the hot water tank next to his room)! Thanks for the replies

We have the opposite problem. The boy's room is cold in the winter. We had to get a heater in to come on and off overnight in the winter as his room averages about 14-15 degrees. It always better for the babes to be co

Thanks, we ended up turning the radiator off in his room and it stayed at 17/18 degrees all night in spite of sub zero temperatures outside, so it was fine in the end. Hope your ds doesn't get too cold in these horrible temperatures!
