CONTROLLED CRYING Question for the experts?????

Well a few questions:

  1. How long do you stay with them to soothe them?

  2. What do you do if they dont stop crying when you go in to them?

  3. If they wake close to getting up time (say 90mins) and you know it could take 90mins to get them to sleep what do you do. This happened to me. Over an hour of CC and then we had to get up anyway. AAAGH

And another one:

Can CC work if you share the same bedroom as baby?

I can only answer questions 1 & 2. We usually lay DD down stroke her head and perhaps say its time for bed. Then leave even if she is still crying untill the next time to go it.

Quite interested in 3 as if this happens DH normally just gets up with her.

1 only 30 secs or so I would say.
2 really you have to ealve them.
3 why the need to get up? Do they have to be at nursery/take older child to school? I would probably give in at this stage but think you should actually keep going and let them sleep a bit later. That's why it is better to do it at weekend/hols but not alwasy convenient.
4 I think so. Depends on age of baby.
