sometimes she wakes up screaming, its like someone is killing her, its awful. i gave her vallergen last night as i was desperate for some sleep, she slept 6 hours straight.

its not at the same time everynight, it can start at anytime. dd1 night terrors i could time.

OP posts:
misdee · 18/01/2006 23:48

FrumpyGrumpy · 18/01/2006 23:49

Can you cuddle her a while, rock her, talk to her about how she's the most precious angel and see if she will subconciously accept the soothing? Would she cuddle up in your bed and be calmer so you can get some sleep?

FrumpyGrumpy · 18/01/2006 23:52

Posts x. My dd sometimes would cry in her sleep and when I went in she'd semi wake. I always wondered why she wasn't responding to my questions then realised she was not fully with me. I just hold her and chat about the beach and what she was like as a baby and convince her she needs a wee. Then she settles. I know its not the same .....

jenweber630 · 19/01/2006 00:02

Bulldoze down your GPs door tomorrow and get a referral for a sleep evaluation. This has got to be so hard on you!! And your dd as well and the rest of your family. It could be so many things going on - night terrors comes to mind but it could be other things as well. I hope you can get this sorted out soon!!!

FrumpyGrumpy · 19/01/2006 00:03

Misdee I've got to go, I'm sorry (I guess you're with her now). Will log on tomorrow to see how its going. Luck to you honey x.

sparklymieow · 19/01/2006 00:07

misdee has gone to bed.

FrumpyGrumpy · 19/01/2006 14:22

You get any sleep last night misdee? Any better a day today?

misdee · 19/01/2006 14:32

she finally stopped screaming after 12. a website said that night terrors should only last 10-30mins, dd2 are going on for 3hours+, so she should see the gp. am shattered, but am preparing for tonight, going to rouse for a wee about an hour after she falls asleep. i'll let u know how i get on.

Just to say, I didnt wake dd up for a wee - if your dd is sleeping i'd leave her. I did it when i found my dd crying and vacant so it would gently tell her body to focus on something that wasn't a bad dream. bring her round enough to accept peaceful sleep again. HTH and look forward to hearing how you get on with her, luck to you honey.
