Wind pains (I think!?!) at night - help?

My 8 week old baby suffers from wind and many nights will wake up making loud grunting noises, sometimes squealing and his face going red, pulling his knees up. I think he must be suffering during the night with wind and can take up to two hours to get him back to sleep again. It's heartbreaking as I just want to make him feel better! I always make sure he's winded after his feeds so am at a loss of how to help the situation! any advice?

have you tried putting a little gripe water in his last bottle? my ds used to be terrible and we found it to worked

Infacol worked for me. Put a few drops on Tongue before giving milk and it brings up wind just like gripe water

Another good one is rubbing his tummy (reasonably hard but not painfully IYSWIM) and doing bicycle legs, can do both either while he's awake or asleep. I found this helped my DS. The relief in his voice/sighs when he'd give a big fart in his sleep after that, bless him.Smile

thanks everyone, I have been using infacol since he was a couple weeks old but it seems to have stopped working so I have started putting gripe water in with his bottle, hopefully that works - a lot of my friends swear by it so fingers crossed!!

Which bottles are you using? The Dr Browns ones are brilliant (although an arse to clean).

My 10 wk old seems to suffer similarly and i'm now cracking up from lack of sleep :(
Any ideas how to get gripe water/ infacol etc into DD???...she refuses to take a bottle, even with expressed milk, or soother!

Infacol comes with a pipette and you drop it onto their tongue before you breast feed or bottle feed so give that a try Smile
