Hello all! My wee girl is nearly 1 and has always been a fabby sleeper but the last few weeks she will fall asleep while feeding and last about twenty minutes in her bed until she will wake up screaming and just not settle again until she is in with me and feeding. She does have a littel sniffle at the moment and perhaps teething is an issue too but I could do with some advice or words of wisdom! I tried to do the "controlled" crying but she was getting so upset. Any helpful advice welcome!!!! Thank you :D

If she has been a good sleeper, I wouldn't worry too much about controlled crying, if she's feeling low or teething it's not worth trying to get her to settle on her own. When she's back on form she'll probably go back to being flabby! My DS was terrible when teething and I'd worry that it would permanently effect his sleep but it never did.

Maybe try and put her in the cot drowsy but not asleep.
I've found that this helps with my DS,it makes him sleep fractionly longer as when he does eventually awaken he doesn't freak out wondering where I've disappeared to!
I switched the bath/boob/bed routine to boob/bath/bed.
It did take a while but he soon got it and now more often than not doesn't even ask for that feed.Have you tried leaving something that smells of you in the cot with her?
I used to wrap the bra I'd been wearing that day round a teddy bear and put that in my DS cot, lol.
I should add,my DS has been a consistently poor sleeper, not like your LO!
It must be a shock to your system!

Thanx ladies! So far I have been giving DD her tea then she has her bath, taking her through to her room dim lights etc and getting her ready for bath...have even been doing a wee massage which relaxes her a bit and then through for a wee cosy and feed. She is drowsy by the time I take her through and she will cry and moan for a bit but eventually she is going to sleep! She slept right through on Monday and til half 5 this morning...she does have a bit of a cough at the mo which I think woke her up! I mite try the bra on the teddy...sure I have a teddy big enough somewhere haha!!! Good idea BenRoo :P She has been such a good sleeper from day one it is quite a shock!!! lol!!

OP, she really sounds like a good sleeper, so I wouldn't worry. If she has a cough/cold/is teething, she is after a bit of comfort. When I don't feel well I don't like to sleep alone either...CC is not recommended when they're not 100%. She should get back to normal when she is feeling well again, TBH it already sounds brilliant, sleeping through or until 5am.

Hi folks on a similar note I have a 9 week old... Never been a good sleeper but I did have a few days of feed play sleep on a 4 hourly basis at Xmas, and was even able to put him down awake in his co-sleeper and he went to sleep...with me lying next to him ... However .... Since New Year, he has been drooling, fussy, biting my boobs, today one of his back teeth broke through.... Problem is sleep, he is getting very little ... He will either fall asleep in the sling on me, or whilst feeding, as soon as we move home to his cot he wakes... I'm really worried that I'll give him bad habits because of his teeth... But I don't think there is an alternative this young age? Has anyone experienced similar? Any suggestions appreciated,

OOooh same here- 9 week old who is sleeping through at night but is not getting the sleep (i would assume she needs) in the day. I know i can't have it both ways but i'm worried the jabs/teething is throwing off her self made routine. Please tell me it will sort itself out!
