How long might a teething setback affect a 19mo's sleep progress?

I am a bit too knackered to tell the whole tale, plus it's not ever so interesting, but 19 mo DD is about to go into week 4 of a concerted attempt to stop bf to sleep and to spend the night in her cot rather than our bed after her 1st waking up. Weeks 1-3 went slowly in the right direction with much less protest than DH & I anticipated. Culminating on New Year's Eve with an unprecedented 9.5 hours sleep. She did two 8.5 hr sleeps during the previous 3 weeks of our efforts - again totally unprecedented. Then from Jan 1st it all went very wrong. We are still making her go to sleep without bf, which takes ages but we think we must persevere. Last night was typical of the last week though - asleep at 8.40, woke 1am, 2.30am, 4am - crying bitterly for 'booby' which I thought we had got beyond, and I fed her each time and got her back to sleep in her own cot, pretty much bf-ing to sleep though, which again, I had been resolute about. She woke again at 6 and I took her into bed. I had cracked earlier in the night the previous 3 nights. I'm worried I've undone 3 weeks of being really firm and consistent. Looks like her canines her making an appearance (she's a late teether I gather). Is there hope , could this be a temporary teething-related setback? Or are we doomed?

thanks as always
