Yet another sleep resistor

oh good lord I've done it again, produced a sleep resistor.

I know exactly what I should do:

  • white noise, check
-sling, check
  • no more awake time than 45 mins, check
  • no ridiculously overstimulating routines, check.

And yet DD (1 month) does not want to sleep. DH had to take her for a walk in the sling (not bothering with a pram after the trauma with DS) after she nearly fell asleep three times but after over two hours of being awake we were both having a meltdown.

Now, where do I get me one of those easy babies that sleep any time, place yada yada?!

Just wanted to foffer my sympathy iggly as DS was just like this. When DD came along she would sleep, just as long as she was snuggled up with me, little bugger!

When you find out where to get one from will you let me know? Smile.

In the meantime have you read this book, one of my friends reckons it saved her life, though that might be overstating it a bit.

On the plus side though I was told lots of times that sleep resisting is a sign of intelligence and DS is certaninly proving that one to be true, well for now anyway.

Thanks Jilted

Yes she'll sometimes nap on me but recently will only last 20 mins before demanding boob by head butting me Grin she's doing it as I type!

That's one book I don't have although now my evenings have gone not sure when I'll read a book again.

this too shall pass

Really, really feel for you. Always used to wonder when my DS would go for more than half an hour without a feed. He's nearly 8 now and still asks for food every half hour or so! Sometimes he eats so much at mealtimes he has to have a lie down. Think some are just born that way.

But yes, this soon shall pass even if it makes you sob in the meantime.

Haha DS was the same re feeds and now at 2, eats a ridiculous amount!

I keep looking at DS and reminding myself DD will be that age and it'll be easier (yes, I think toddlers are easier than newborns!)
