Working on the assumption 1yo dd is waking lots because she's cold

Not teething or hungry I don't think but has reverted to waking three times a night.

So tonight she has pj bottoms, long sleeves vest, long sleeve pj top, socks and a 2.5 tog bag. Is this too much? Especially the socks?

My 8 month dd goes to bed in a vest baby grow cardigan 2.5tog sleeping bag a baby duvet and a wooly blanket if she has one less thing on she won't sleep her room is 19

That makes me feel better yawner. She was born last dec amidst all that snow and in retrospect I think we kept her cold the whole time.

Yellow it took us a while to figure out why she kept waking and the only thing we could think of was the temp dropping and waking her up...I'm quite a snug bug and feel the cold easily so I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner...it was dh that said maybe she's cold Smile! Other people look at me like I'm a fruit loop when I say what she has on when she goes to sleep...but she's happy so heyho...hope your lo has a good nights sleep as snug as a bug! Grin

My dd is in exactly the same as yours yellow and wakes up if we leave the socks off. Her room is 19 at start of night but drops to 17-18 overnight.

bobbledunk · 04/01/2012 01:58

Why don't you put on the heating?Hmm

Staverton · 04/01/2012 09:01

Cheaper? Better for the environment? Much better to wear more clothes!

yellowflowers · 04/01/2012 09:45

Heating goes off when we go to bed. If on overnight at all it is stuffy and horrible.

Well maybe it was coincidence but last night for first time in months she slept through from 8pm-6.30am not even waking for a feed about 11pm as usual. It could be any of a number of things we tried including her wanting more milk than usual before bed but for now I am sticking to socks and two layers of pj.

Wahoo well done yellow lo!!! Our heating comes on if it drops to 18...but wouldn't want it on all night either!! Keep up with the layers Grin

Thanks. Bought two pairs of thick fleecey pjs for her in primark today too.

blimey, all those layers? gulp. I co-sleep but DS only has a vest, PJs or baby-grow and a blanket which he periodically kicks off. I feel guilty now! Am I freezing him.

yellowflowers · 04/01/2012 19:28

If you co sleep he'll get loads of warmth from you.
