9 month old waking in night

Please help,

My Jamie (9 months old) has slept trhoguh form 7-7
since he was 6 months old. He sleeps in his own cot in
his own room and always has done. Although he has a
white noise thing plaiyng during the night he
generally was quite good at settling hismelf. hte
before Xmas (about a month ago) he got an awful cold
and was waking up unable to breathe. we got him over
that but he has started really messing about and
refusing his food - he rarely eats more than a few
bites withou coaxing and mealtimes are becoming a real
battle. He is waking up at 3am ish every night and
having 5-8oz of milk. I assume he is hungry as he
isn't eating well during the day but how can I get him
back to normal? He is very very difficult to settle
back to sleep at 4am and we are often up all night
with him.

PLEASE HELP!

P.S my HV just said giv ehim more food but he screams
and cries and gets hysterical if I try and force food
into his mouth!

I work f/t in a very demanding job as does my husband
and I've just had to take 2 days hols to try and catch
up on sleep!

I would try to relax about mealtimes, if he doesn't want to eat you can't force him. He will eat more when he's ready. Just give finger foods and let him help himself. Don't know how to turn the night-time situation around, but then I would just give milk and bring him into my bed..

just wanted to say... i think this is quite normal! i agree with tatties about giving him more finger food.
also maybe try getting more milk in him during the day? what does he drink normally in the day in terms of milk?

you could also try gradually decreasing the amount of milk you give him at night. if he fills up at night then he may not want as much to eat in the day iyswim?

My ds (who is now 1) had several colds and stomach bugs was exactly the same. It has taken us about 7-8 wekks I'm afraid to get him eating again and back on th eright track sleeping wish. No help at all I realise but it will resolve with time.

Yes perhaps your lo would be more receptive to extra milk during the day if he's off his solids.
