Baby's gone bad

Of course my lovely baby isn't really bad but she used to sleep really well at night usually in 6 hour stretches. She had started to sleep through. We were delighted because our first baby was a terrible sleeper. She is now 15 weeks and has not been sleeping since the beginning of December and it's getting worse not better. I just feel like we had a good baby and turned her into a bad one. Everything you read would have you believe that the way you put them down and respond to crying shapes the way they behave. I know that she doesn't need feeding everytime she wakes but it's not exactly the favourite choice at 3 in the morning not to do the easiest thing!Has anyone else had this expereince? Did it get better again?

Hi Berrie. I totally sympathise with you! Our DS started sleeping through from 7pm to 5am and we thought all our dreams had come true! This was about three weeks ago when he was about 13-14wks. But the past couple of weeks he's started to wake up at around 2am and then almost every hour to have his dummy (like your lo, he's not awake for food and I'm def not going to get back into the habit of giving him any!). It is SO frustrating!!! Arrgh!!! I'm hoping this is because he's had a cold and is feeling blocked up and will go back to sleeping through once it's all cleared up. If it doesn't I don't know what I'm going to do as it is really driving me insane!!! Sorry to not offer any help, just wanted to let you know you're not the only one!

I was told that when babies start waking up in the middle of the night it is a sign that they may be ready to start solids. Speak to your HV who will be able to offer some advice. Hope in the meantime your littles ones let you get some sleep!

Thanks for sensible advice. I was feeling a little hysterical when I posted that this morning after another horrid night. My husband looked really pleased to see me when I got up at 6am as he was getting ready for work but it was only to tell him through gritted teeth that I CAN NOT TAKE another night like that one. But I will and it'll be ok in the end. She's still not quite as bad as her brother was...not yet anyway!
