Tips for curing insomnia

I have always been a good sleeper, until my DD was born 3 months ago. She is my first baby, and have had the usual broken nights sleep that everyone has with a tiny baby. The problem is now she's usually sleeping for longer stretches, but I can't get to sleep myself. It's so so frustrating - after a feed in the night it can take up to 3 hours for me to fall back asleep.

My GP prescribed me sleeping tablets (Zopiclone) which I take a very low dose of (2mg) as I'm breastfeeding. My DH gives a bottle of formula as a dreamfeed, so I usually have about 6 hours between taking the tablet when I go to bed, and having to do a night feed, which my GP says is fine as such a small amount will be in my milk by then. I'm keen to stop taking them though, but can't seem to get any sleep without them.

Any tips? Have tried milky drinks, herbal teas, warm baths etc, but no luck. I don't know why I can't sleep - I know I'll hear the baby if she cries, so I'm not actively listening out for her, & I don't feel anxious or worried about anything (except the fact I can't sleep!) but still I lie there wide awake. As you can imagine, I'm shattered!

There are lots of free podcasts to help you sleep - I wouldn't use them if you're cosleeping but otherwise I find they really help. I found them listed under the health section .
