How can I make DD more cosy in bed?

16mo DD slept through for the very 1st time last week while we were on holiday and we're now desperately trying to recreate the conditions in which she did it to encourage a repeat performance!

Usually we take towels to pad out the travel cot mattress but forgot this time so wrapped a single duvet round it instead - she clearly liked snuggling into it as it was nice and soft, but it doesn't seem a very safe thing to do on a permanent basis so I've been trying to find some kind of topper that might make her cot more snuggly at home, but without success - has anyone seen anything that might work?

Also her room at home gets quite cold overnight and she tends to kick off her duvet (won't keep a gro bag on anymore) and wake up chilly, whereas her room on holiday was about 19 degrees all night so she didn't really need the duvet. We can't really dress her more warmly because it's quite toasty in there at the start of the night so she'd be too hot, so not sure what else to do.

Of course it could have had nothing to do with either of those factors and been a complete fluke, but any suggestions gratefully accepted!

What about Grobag stay on bedding? It's basically a pillowcase stitched to a duvet, so they can't get their head under the pillow, and a duvet cover that zips on down each side. We got one of these for dd when she was about the age of your dd I think, and she's been very happy in it since (now 20 months). I also got the Gro duvet, as it poppers into the corners of the cover, and I like things like that! We tend to only half zip up one side, then if she's hot, she can easily push back the covers.

Best of luck getting your dd to sleep through again! Smile

How about letting her have a pillow to snuggle into? You could always put the pillow under a fitted sheet so she can't get under it but would still be snuggly.
