Bloody bloody leaking nappies, help!

since he was newborn, if ds sleeps on his side, he ends up soaking. He rolls in his sleep and at least once a night, on top of all the other wakings, I have to change vest, sleepsuit and gro bag.

He is in the optimum size nappy. Any tips? Even changing it doesn't always help.

Arrgghhh!

I agree, we have leaks here too unless we use pampers

Olipop · 29/11/2011 06:44

I used to use a disposible plus a washable and wrap. Usually did the trick with my very heavy wetting boy!

ClaraDeLaNoche · 29/11/2011 06:49

My midwife told us this: get a large cotton wool makeup remiver pad and place over the top of his wee man. This keeps it in one place in his nappy. Worked for us!

SleepyFergus · 29/11/2011 06:53

How about popping one of those neoprene swim nappies on top of his nappy? Should keep the nappy in place and also help capture any leaks.

I hated the big brand nappies. We moved onto Lidls own brand pull ups and haven't looked back since.

Aldi seem to be working for us at the moment

pipoca · 29/11/2011 08:50

We live in Spain, but the only brand that ever worked for us were Dodot (pampers in the UK) Huggies were shitter than shit.

bigkidsdidit · 29/11/2011 09:06

The only nappy that doesn't leak with my DS is pampers baby dry

ShowOfHands · 29/11/2011 09:12

Try different brands. We use washables mainly but with disposables dd leaked in Huggies in particular. DS leaks in Pampers. Trial and error usually finds you one that works. Aldi are good for us atm when we need them.

We also have to make sure that ds's penis is pointing straight down and not off to the side with the nappy secured snugly over it.

Emsmaman · 29/11/2011 09:50

Pampers all the way for us. Huggies leaked EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.

ImNotAnsweringIt · 29/11/2011 12:42

Thanks all, will try pampers. Teething at the mo but co sleeping is out as he always ends up on his side. Very tired!

pampers 12hr ones are the best for us and we usually buy abigger size which helps.

AllBellyandBoobs · 29/11/2011 19:13

The only ones that have worked for me overnight are Tescos own nappies, Pampers and Huggies were both useless! You just need to find something to fit your babies shape I think. Good luck

ItsTimeToBurnThisDiscoDown · 30/11/2011 02:39

We had problems with this when DS was very tiny, I think his little legs didn't fill the holes properly! I found Huggies rubbish, Pampers are much better for him. We now only get leaks when he's a bit between sizes. Smile

south345 · 30/11/2011 04:24

Pampers active fit seem better for my ds, baby dry always seem to need changing more often and seem smaller fitting, huggies always leak.

south345 · 30/11/2011 18:44

If you're using a brand ring and complain, I rang pampers today as baby dry keep leaking but active fit are fine and they're sending me £18 in vouchers to replace them!

beckieperk · 30/11/2011 19:06

How old is your ds? And weight? My ds is currently going through a very leaky stage. He is now 4.5 months and 15lb. We are using pampers baby dry no 3 and I've just bought 180 and now he's leaked the past 3 nights....before never a problem!! Typical.Sad Got some active fit so may try them tonight.
