Please help, distressed baby when daddy puts to bed!

My 6 month old ds has always been very good at going to bed after a bath and bottle but over the last few weeks and in particular the last two days we have had problems...
My husband and I have always alternated the responsibility for the bedtime routine and I've noticed over the last few weeks that there is a lot more crying when he does it...ds begins crying in the bathroom and continues to get distressed and refuses his bottle which is what he really wants!
I struggle to listen to it and know that he needs to feed, in trying to help I've then offered to settle him, given him back to daddy and the same thing happens again!
Can anyone help with what's going on? I don't know how to tackle this one. I end up feeling guilty that he is more settled for me and worried that I cannot always be there for him and my husband really is getting upset. He is ending up really annoyed with me for the help I'm trying to give!
Not only that but my little girl is feeling left out too, I can't seem to do anything right!
Any help please? Is this a phase? Will it change?

Will keep my eye on this thread. Same situation here with our ds. Last time I asked most people said why change it unless it's a problem for me basically?! It's not a problem, but would like to be able to take it in turns or have a guilt free evening out leaving ds with dh! Doesn't make me love ds any less. I also feel the guilt because dh would love to help out, so I could take my turn doing dinner if nothing else!!! Ha. I know that's no help but will watch with interest. Good luck.Smile

Does help to know there is someone else having the same problem....so distressing to hear how upset they get eh?
I know what people say, why is it a problem....I suppose that it isn't until you have to be out. I have another 6 months mat leave but after that I will be away from time to time and this makes me very nervous about leaving him day or night! Also, I have another daughter who deserves some of my time too!
Feeling quite down this evening, really hoping thing improve and thankyou for your post, let me know what's happening for you too!

At 6mths, babies realise you are a seperate person and can go away - and it scares them!

I'd settle him for the time being and try with Dad every so often. It will pass Smile
