Zzzzzzzz Morning all, just to seeing if anyone has any tips really as I think my ds (nearly 16 weeks) is going through his 4 month sleep regression! It's killing me. He us now ff and sleeps in his crib beside bed. The longest stretch we've had tonight is about 2 hours at the beginning if the night. Since then every 30-44 mins waking!! Its been this way for perhaps a week on and off.....some nights (tonight :-() being a bad one. Just wondering if there is anything I can do to make the situation more barable all round? And how long does it normally last? His daytime naps are pretty pants at the moment too.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

We have just (fingers crossed) come out of the end of the 4 month sleep regression, luckily it was only 2 weeks for us, little un is 20 weeks today. We were up pretty much every hour on the hour from 10pm til 4.30am when we brought her in to bed with us til 7.30am when it was getting up time. We tried everything, later feeds, bigger feeds (she actually was feeding (ff) less than normal during it), more naps, less naps. But you know what, it just stopped!!! Now her feeds are back up and we've had 3 nights on the trot with her sleeping through from 10pm til 7.30am. Sorry can't give you any helpful advice, but the good old saying its just a phase is true! Good luck!

Thanks Flippajh. That's good to know....I suppose another 2 weeks would be bearable. Just! I'm shattered and feeling very weepy. Sad My ds is also eating less during the day....but the same (ish) at night. Anyone else got any tales. Or advice?! She says hopefully?!Grin

I'm afraid ours was more like 8 weeks long....BUT..at 6mths now and finally coming out the other side! 3-5hr stretches rather than hourly wakings

beckieperk · 12/11/2011 17:56

Oh no! Sad 8 weeks would kill me off I think! Any chance the sleep stretches got any longer at all in that time?!

We had a spell where it was every 2 hrs for weeks and I was going slowly mad, esp when dd1 gets up at 6am every day, just as the baby was settling down to sleep till 8! But no, it was grim for a while I'm afraid. She has learned to roll in the meantime and that seems to have made a big difference, she's doing 3-5hrs now(5hrs still rare tho tbh!)

Just wondering too...I've started trying the no-cry sleep solution methods (boy do you need some patience for this baby! Ha.) thinking this may not be the best time to try it?? Or on the other hand is it the perfect time to try it?? And also has anyone tried this sleep method with any effect? Smile Nice happy ending stories v much appreciated! Lol.GrinGrin

I'm with you be 4 month sleep deprivation time! I'm shattered as DD decides to wake up every hour on the hour from 3am then when I finally give in and get up... She starts to yawn but refuses to nap anyway. I feel like I cant win. So I'm hoping there maybe a miracle cure but think I may be waiting a long time!!!!

My DD seems to be hitting this point to. Bumping the thread with the hope that someone will come along with lots of good tips so we can all get a bit of sleep.

Going through this at the moment with 17.5 week old DS. Has gone from waking once or twice to 5 or 6 times. Last night he decided 2.30am was an appropriate time to wake up for the day!

So far tonight he's been rocked to sleep twice but wakes up the second he's put down. I've even given him some calpol in case he's got earache or anything but it hasnt made any difference. I wish I knew what to do!

BroomForMyChin · 14/11/2011 22:03

I has that with DD tonight too. Every time I put her in her Moses basket she was wide awake. Took 2 hours to put her to bed. Normally takes about 40 mins including bath, story, feed. Not looking forward too tonight. Fingers crossed we all get a bit of sleep.
