7 month old - still needs to be swaddled to sleep. Is this normal?

My 8 month old will pull her ears off and rub her eyes out if I don't swaddle her to go to sleep. And in the night she will wake up - not to feed - and all I have to do is re-swaddle her and she goes back to sleep. But this is happening quite a bit and I am wondering if maybe a sleeping bag might solve the problem. Anyone know of any good ones they can recommend?

Hi

I use the grobag and they are good, also just bought one from john lewis, doesn't stop them wriggling about tho, I put my dd down one end of the cot and then check on her 5 mins later and she's up the other end side ways on :-)) My dd also rubs her eyes which i think is a sign of tiredness normally I would rush straight in when I heard a peep out of her but now I'm steering clear and letting her get on with it and so far so good she is going off on her own

We are trying to wean our ds (6.5 months) off swaddling. We have been using a grobag but keeping his arms inside for the time being (0.5tog for daytime naps, 2.5 at night). We did try arms out of the grobag for a couple of days but his naps were so short - keeping his arms in, although there is still quite a bit of room for movement seems to be just enough.
