Should I wake him?

ds3 (16 months) had a temp last night - he had his MMR last Tues so could be related to that but possibly not. Anyway, he was up a bit in the night but we've all been up now since 8am and he is still sparko!!

I've just been in - he's not hot, just sleepy. Normally when I go in and rouse him he'd be straight up, standing up in the cot with arms out to be picked up. He just looked at me and shut his eyes again. Hmmm...

Let him sleep and just check on him regularly.

Feistybird · 29/12/2005 12:57

aah bless him - personally I would just keep checking on him and get him up when he looks ready.

Glitterygook · 29/12/2005 12:58

I think you are right - thanks, just wondering if I should be worried that he's sleeping so much.

mmr knocked my DD1 for six in exactly the same way.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 29/12/2005 13:11

IIRC, 7 days is normal for an MMR reaction isn't it?

Glitterygook · 29/12/2005 13:58

Think so - I thought it was 7-10 days later that the measles 'kicks in'. He's still asleep - think I'll get him up at 2pm!

My older two didn't react at all so I wasn't expecting it - it could be unrelated I guess.

Of course, having slept all day he'll be raring to go tonight...!!

Glitterygook · 29/12/2005 14:02

Argh!

hmm .. I think I'd check to see if he can be woken properly first then if he wants to go back to sleep let him

I'm sure its nothing and he's just getting strength cos his immune system is compromised but its past lunchtime and personally I'd want to see if he could be fully roused

Glitterygook · 29/12/2005 15:35

Thanks everyone.

At 2pm I went in and he got up quickly as he would normally. He is the picture of health now! Bizarre!

MistleToo · 29/12/2005 18:30

Twiglett · 29/12/2005 18:31

MistleToo · 29/12/2005 18:34

no, it's Too-ly!

whirling dervishes spring to mind ....

Glitterygook · 29/12/2005 18:52

Oi!

He's just polished off an enormous portion of lasagne so he's back on form, having not touched a bite of his dinner last night.

He didn't say no to his mini milky bar either!
