Dream feed gone wrong

DS is nearly 6mo. For a long time he was going down at 7 and doing one wake at 3/4am to 7. Two weeks ago I decided to try a dream feed and start patting him over in cot rather than in my arms. He was also swaddled at this point.

Dream feed was disaster and he now wants feed at 11 as well as 3 and 5. Any ideas on how to get back from this as it's bloody killing me.
Shh-pat went well until I decided to drop swaddle a week ago and he would go over on his own part of the time. After swaddle dropped shh-pat less successful but if he was not over tired he would go over on his own with mobile.

So - should I bring back swaddle. Is it a really bad idea to let him rely on a mobile and how do I tackle habit night waking?

Oh god, poor you. dream feeding never worked with my first, he'd just wake at his 'usual' 3am too. After 6 months he was pretty much sleeping from 7 till 6 or so, but then he started night waking again (or was this after we cut out a 5 am feed ...., bit hazy) Anyway, after 6 months old ish, we gritted our teeth and did controlled crying. It takes nerves of steel. Me and my husband took turns in nearly caving in, but after three hellish nights, he stopped waking and screaming for us, he just settled himself. He also, always woke all smiles in the morning, so didn't hate us. It was truely horrific to do, but the screaming lasted a little less each night. He managed to scream for a good 90 mins first time with us going in 2 mins, 5 mins and then every 10 till he stopped. Loads on here about it. Very good luck with however you deal with it. My 4 month old has now started waking more than she did at 12 months. It is so demorilising.
You are not alone! x
