Tog of duvet for 2 year old?

Want to move DS into duvet stage for the cold winter and also he has outgrown his gro-bags and don't want to buy any more.
What sort of tog should I get? I'm getting a single duvet so I can tuck it under but wondered if a 13.5 tog would be too hot? Our house is pretty cold at night.
Thanks in advance!

Hi I have always gone with the recommended low tog for children & then I discovered pure wool filled duvets which are excellent in keeping warm in winter and cool in summer. My son used to over heat a lot when he was a todler in a feather low tog duvet and would wake up cold having kicked it off or too hot if I had tucked him in!! Anyway, the wool duvet seemed to do the trick they are very good quality and they sleep really well with them. We just got wool filled junior pillows for them to. Try www.whitecloud.co.uk and read up on the advice & children there.
PS Our house very cold too!!!

My DD has a 7 tog cot bed duvet from John Lewis. I just put a blanket over her if its very cold.

However shes co slept with me since day 1 so apart from when she was a tiny baby shes had a normal 15 tog on her but I guess I take most the weight of it. You could get the higher tog just not use as heavy pjs ie summer ones and then a dressing gown etc when he gets up.

Mine sleep under a 4.5 tog duvet all year round (well they kick it off in summer). When it is very cold they have their warmer PJs on and I just put a fleece blanket over the top.

I think the usual recommendation at that age is 4.5 tog. I wouldn't go any heavier than a 7 tog. At that age they still over heat quite easily

the maximum tog for a cot bed or junior bed is 4.5tog and for a full sized single it is 10.5tog. My two have a 4.5tog in summer and 10.5tog when it is cold (live is Scotland so it can get very cold!)

my ds 2.8 has 7 tog duvet and he seems nice and snug but not too hot under this. Wouldn't get heavier tog than this personally.
