Since starting a df a month ago ds (6 half months) has started sleeping all night. The hv has just told me that it should be stopped now as he should be getting enough in the day. what r ur experiences of stopping the feed? just dont want him waking up again. i dont think i can fit any more food or milk into waking hours!

if you are happy with the dreamfeed then carry on doing it!

there is no reason why you should stop if you and your son are both ok with it

thats what i think. somtimes hvs do my in head in with their advice. ill carry on for now and might just risk it one night!

you could experiment with dropping it, I suppose, and see if he wakes hungry/thirsty later in the night.

Bet I will have lots of MNers tutting at this , but my ds is 12m and still often needs a feed at about 4am (am bfing and co-sleeping so it's not really a hassle). At 6m, it's quite possible that he isn't able to eat everything he needs during the day.

bloody hvs. Do what you want to do. My dts are 7 mnths, and if I stop their df they would wake up hungry during the night. You baby will let you know when he is ready to drop it.

thanks for your comments. he must need it or he wouldnt drink it, unless hes just greedy! ill keep doing it if only to get a good nights sleep!
