Can anyone offer any advice..please!!! My DS has never gome to sleep easily but over the last 6 months we have really cracked the going to sleep by himself in the cot thing...however, for the last couple of weeks when it comes to nap time all hell breakes loose and he gets so worked up he almost hyperventilates!!!! I have thought that maybe he doesn't need the nap anymore but he is obviously tired and has bags under his eyes!!! The double problem is I'm working part time now so I need him to go down easily for the childmnder too. He hits, kicks, bites screams and won't even let me touch him to comfort him.
Does anyone have any clue as to why suddenly nap time would spiral out of all control and any advice on how to fix this??!!!
Thank you!

I gave up trying to get dd to nap in her cot/bed at around this age. Instead we either go for a walk with the buggy or we go out in the car and once she is asleep she gets transferred into her buggy to finish the nap - either back at the house or out and about. Having her nap like this does not affect her ability to settle to sleep at night - she goes off by herself very easily.

At the end of the day, she will not nap forever and if she settles peacefully in the buggy/car then it saves me having to listen to her scream too!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Have just been feeling a failure for having to drive my 20 month old round until he went to sleep. He was really knackered, but as soon as he hit the cot earlier all hell broke loose.

I left him for 5 minutes to see what would happen. Came back up and he'd thrown up from crying so much.

This is not a good day.
