Thanks.

Bump as I'm desperate!

My DD2 woke at 7.30 and 10.30 last night. Then was up from 1 til 3.30. Then woke at 5.15 AM wanting to be up for the day.

I haven't used them but heard good things. I have their book which is worth a read.
I did controlled crying with my DS at 10 months and it worked well and quickly.

MummyBerryJuice · 21/05/2011 14:44

I've heard good things but haven't used them. (Someone on here recommended them)

What have you tried?

PS I can't help you as am the chronically sleep deprived mother of 17 month old non-sleeping monster angel.

eastendmummy · 21/05/2011 15:09

We used them and it was the best money we've ever spent!

vez123 · 21/05/2011 18:14

We also had similar issues. Cut morning nap and also recently used a gentle version of controlled crying called controlled comforting. Now my DS sleeps from 7 until about 5:45. Not perfect but livable, seems to be enough for him. Not sure what else a sleep clinic would have done.

cbmum · 21/05/2011 21:55

I've got their book and I second the fact it's a good read - probably one of the more sensible out there. That said, I'd love to get them to help as I'm going quickly crazy with lack of sleep and very concerned about going back to work in a few months with 2 little people who don't sleep well. 5 hours sleep for me in 3 parts is considered good!

I looked up their website today in desperation but can't afford their charges. A local sleep consultant who was recommended to me earlier this week and more affordable is about to move abroad and has no slots left before her departure. Cue more headache tablets and coffee to keep me going!

fivegomadindorset · 21/05/2011 21:59

I have for DD who was just about to turn 4, they were great, highly reccommend them.

vez123 · 21/05/2011 22:18

Are you keeping a sleep diary? I think this is what most sleep consultants ask you to do in the beginning. It may help detect a pattern that you could change? Just an idea in case you're not already doing it..

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 21/05/2011 22:23

Yes, I used them and found them fairly good. We did the retreat method and took longer than they recommended but that was our choice.

They were very supportive of us and didn't try and force us down any particular route (although at the time I felt they were keener on controlled crying than other methods but didn't force us in any way and allowed us to do what we thought was the best).

We really needed the outside support and they certainly did help us with that.

beachavendrea · 22/05/2011 19:06

we used them and i would have paid double! we didn't use controlled crying either but i found them really supportive and especially as I was so sleep deprived i didn't know which way to turn.

Will post a separate thread on this but just to let people know Millpond are offering 10% off their core and premium packages if you book before 31 May. Have finally bitten the bullet and signed up after a year's dithering.
