Mammoth naps

Just a quick question.

Are mammoth daytime naps part of the 4 month sleep regression. My DD is currently on 2 hours, yesterday afternoon she sleep for 3 hours! Her typical style has been three naps of 45-60 minutes up until about a week ago.

What is going on? Plus should I wake her?

DS has only recently grown out of 2 hour naps and he is nearly 3! How I miss them.... He has always liked his naps, and I have never woken him, unless I HAD to go out.

Sorry to hijack but am a bit flummoxed.

DS is a rubbish sleeper. He is 10 weeks old, and if we make three hours we're happily amazed. He does nap throughout the day, usually for an hour at a time.

But, he's now sleeping into his fourth hour. Should I leave him or wake him? He's in a sling, so I can't grab some sleep myself. Is this going to destroy his night sleep?

I never let ds go more than 3 hours between feeds in the day time, others say you should never wake a sleeping baby though.

Thanks Rita.

He woke up a few minutes ago.

Out of interest - do you wake him to feed or because you don't want it to affect his night sleep? Or both?

When he was little both - not enough feeds in the day means more at night. Babies need X number of feeds and X hours of sleep in 24 hours, it's just a matter of whether they're spaced evenly or organised into day/night.
