resettling when wakes from nap?

my 2 month old has just started taking naps in her cot Grin , previously i had t take her in sling or pushchair. i'm having to feed a little bit to get her to doze off, though do put her down before properly asleep. i have 2 questions, what could i do instead of feeding to calm her? and secondly she always wakes after abour 40mins but no refreshed, as she is yawning and crying with it. I do feel it would be better for her to have a longer nap...do other people try and resettle there babies at this point? And if so, how?!!

thanks :)

I had exactly the same problem with my DD and the only thing that worked was giving her a dummy.

Try shushing and patting her, it works for some babies.

My DS is the same so we now use a dummy here too. It seems to be 50/50 whether it works or not. If it doesn't, I get him up and change him, let him kick around on his playmat, feed him (BFing) and try again 15 mins or so later.

We used to use white noise to try to send DS back off/get him to sleep when he was that age - sometimes a hairdryer being blasted right next to his head seemed to do the trick (not on hot, obviously, otherwise he might have gone a bit bouffant). I hate to say it though, but I think a lot of babies only take short naps at that age. DS was a serial 40-minute napper until he was around six months - I just used to spend all day putting him down for naps because he was so tired. It's sorted itself out as he's got older though..
