Dd2 hates being covered. Should I put leg warmers on her?

Dd2 (7mo) hates being covered at night and gets frustrated with sleeping bags. Our house is pretty warm but we sleep with the window cracked open as it gets stuffy.

If she wears just a babygro and vest I worry that she'll be too cold, her legs are quite cool in the morning when I change her.

I'm not worried about her per se, but she is a crap sleeper as it is and don't want her waking from being too hot or cold. I thought I might get some of those babylegs leg warmers to put on her legs over her babygro so her body isn't working so hard to stay warm. Is this a good idea? Any other advice?

You could put socks on - cold legs won't be as bad as cold feet! Does her body feel warm? She might well be fine. If DS wakes up cold, he just wants a cuddle to warm up (he'll feel cooler) then I'll have to pop the heating on for a bit if I don't want to risk changing him and waking him too much!

You could check the overnight forecasts - it's pretty mild at the moment so she'll be ok but if there's a late overnight frost then stick another layer on with thick socks.

You can also get thicker sleepsuits - we got one from next which we used for the winter.

thread on thick sleepsuits

Thanks for the reply. She is usually in footed babygros, but still quite cool when I change her in the morning. I'll have a look at the sleepsuits. I've got some fleecy ones from DD1 but I worry they will be too warm, and I just thought the leggings will keep her legs warm without making the rest of her overheat.

It's not a serious problem, I'm not worried about her, I just want to to stay asleep for as long as possible - which is about 3 hours at the moment!

Grin I know what you mean - DS was terrible at that age!
Maybe give the legwarmers a go - or leggings (I got leg warmers for DS in the winter but they cut into his thighs).

You could use the thicker suits for colder nights only?
