battle to get 15 mth old into bed each night

Any advice would be very gratefully received.

My daugther is 15 months old but for the last 3-4 weeks we have had such a battle getting her to go to bed at night. Not sure if it's simply because it's lighter or whether this is a stage. She has a good bedtime routine but just wants to play. When we finally put her into her cot at 7 she is still very hyper, despite our best efforts to get her to chill out before bed. She then plays in her cot & shouts to us and we keep going into her every 10-15 mins to tuck her back in. It's taking her until about 7.45 to fall asleep. If my husband strokes her head she falls asleep quicker, but I don't want him to do that all the time otherwise she'll need it every night!

We have always been able to visit friend's houses at the weekends and take our daugther with us. She is then put to bed in a travel cot upstairs as normal, but would usually fall asleep on the way in the car or the pushchair! this has now become a nightmare as she knows something is going on and refuses to sleep!!

Any ideas would be great! Is this just a normal stage? Should I move her bedtime later or stick with 7pm and carry on the battle? Help please..

thank you

no advice, but i do have sympathy!

My DD is also not settling at bedtime (she is almost 14mo) after months of little or no protesting at all. I am hoping it's a phase.

We have recently moved house, so I am unsure if that's the problem, but as with you our DD used to be quite happy visiting and staying at our friends houses, so moving shouldn't have unsettled her that much.

She is also waking up earlier and earlier - from 6.45 a few weeks back to 5.30 now - and I don't know what to do to make it stop!

Lets just hope this is yet another phase and it will pass...
